Certified Farmers Market Fresh Pick of the week: Fresh Fish and Shellfish !
The anticipation is over!! Fresh-Caught fish and shellfish arrive this week at the Palm Springs and Palm Desert Certified Farmers’ Markets. Poppa’s Fresh Fish Company, already a favorite at a number of other Southern California Farmers’ Markets, is an exciting new addition to the the Palm Springs and Palm Desert Certified Farmers’ Markets, which also recently added grass-fed beef to their offerings.
“Our customers have been absolutely thrilled with the beef,” said Paul Palodichuk, Market Manager. “And since we announced that Poppa’s Fresh Fish Company was coming, we’ve been getting lots of interest. We’re really excited to be able to bring consumers fish that’s this fresh. Until now, only restaurants could get fish this fresh, so there’s a real demand for it.”
Poppa’s Fresh Fish Company offers a variety of fish and shellfish every week including local yellowtail, local opah, local swordfish, local live sea urchins, oysters on the half shell, clams, snapper, dover sole, shrimp, and Pacific caught salmon. The weekly selection will vary, of course, depending on the actual catch. Usually there are ten to fifteen varieties of fish and shellfish, plus fresh-made ceviche, and more!
