L’Artisan Valley Baking Company provides fresh hand-made breads to Certified Farmers’ Market customers in all three of our locations. We are proud to be able to offer our customers their hand-made artisan breads lovingly created from the simplest ingredients; flour, sea salt and filtered water – and all from a local baking company.
L’Artisan Valley Baking Company was founded in 2003 by Fred and Severine Estrada, along with their friend and Head Baker, Francisco Barrera. Their goal was simple – make great breads the old fashioned way, and make them available to local restaurants and consumers alike. We’re glad they succeeded. Their breads are now being enjoyed by our Certified Farmers’ Market customers, and by restaurant customers throughout the Coachella Valley.
Did you know: Bread is one of the oldest prepared foods, dating back to the Neolithic era, and probably first prepared in even earlier prehistoric times. Basic bread is prepared by baking a dough that is made of flour and water. Salt, fat and leavening agents such as yeast and baking soda are common added ingredients. Bread can also contain a variety of other ingredients, including milk, eggs, sugar, spices, dried fruits, vegetables, nuts and/or seeds.
