Fresh locally-raised grass-fed beef, and organic beef, are now available from two different farms at all three Certified Farmers’ Market locations. Da-Le Ranch offers locally-raised grass-fed beef that has been pasture-fed, and raised without hormones or steroids. They also offer a variety of other meats, including pork, lamb, rabbit, chicken, duck, and bison – all USDA inspected; grown locally and humanely. For those preferring to order larger quantities, they offer the ability to order custom cuts, quarter, half and full sides of beef, lamb, or pork.
Both Da-Le Farms and Sage Mountain Farms also offer beef through a Certified Supported Agriculture (CSA) Program. Weekly or monthly mixed packages are available for pick-up from any Certified Farmers’ Market location. CSA Programs enable local farmers to plan annual meat production throughout the year, and ensure that consumers will have access to farm-fresh meats on a year-round basis.
Did you know: The meat from cattle raised “on pasture,” and without growth hormones, steroids, antibiotics or other drugs is generally less fatty, and contains more vitamin E, beta-carotene, vitamin C, and omega-3 fatty acids than commercially-raised animals. Grass-farming, as it is sometimes called, is also a more humane and natural way of raising cattle.
